1. Tonight I was at Barnes & Noble, picking up DD and her friend AH, who had spent a couple hours at the mall. I found THE AMBER SPYGLASS by Philip Pullman and went to purchase it. Conversation that followed ( Read more... )

1. Best analogy for the Twilight books: Twinkies. You know they're bad for you, but you eat one anyways, and then you regret it afterwards.
While I wouldn't go as far as cloverdew, I agree that DD should get nowhere near those books. S.M. isn't a big fan of free will.
I was rather emo when I first read them (last summer), so I gave them more credit than they were worth.

4. Yeah, it was kinda convenient, but oh-so-happy to see them all again. And, nice tie-off for the Rose arc. I've heard that RTD will do the next two Christmas episodes (as DW won't be back until 2010) and that they will be continuous.

5. I need to see that movie. Stepbrothers started out with a GWB quote (something about how "families is the most important...") and my sister and I burst out laughing, but few other people in the theater got it.

6. Hopefully things will work with getting a new tv.

Twinkies!!! Damn, that sounds appropriate.

Mulder and Scully squee! I had to bribe teh hubby to watch that one with me.

I have not read any of the twilight series but a friend of mine is extremely into it so she is my source. I keep telling her and you were laughing at how excited I was about HP. At least she (my friend) gets her happy ending though, JKR gsve us the crapilogue.

True about the crapilogue. But I'm not real sure about the messages in the Twilight series. From the little I've read, Bella sounds like a major doormat. Oh well. At least Edward is literally sparkly!

#3 - Yes, CSI Miami has always done the red filter thing, noticed it from the very first episode and then I quit watching it. I didn't like some of the various cast (for various reasons :P) and then dropped off as a CSI fan at all. I'll watch CSI the original any time I can catch it, but dangit, life is BUSY now. *headdesk* Let's all just revolt and veg together, anyone with me?

I agree that Original CSI (aka CSI: Vegas) is the best of the bunch. It seems to be on Spike about 20 hours a day. When in doubt, watch CSI.
