1. Totally disgusting: Boyfriend cut up corpse, cooked it :-O More evidence that Hurricane Katrina is causing mental illness? or was this guy just totally effed up before then?

2. Fun stuff: An invisibility cloak that works in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum has been unveiled in the US. While not quite as effective as Harry ( Read more... )

A stingray jumped on a boat and stabbed a man. Call it revenge for the anti-stingray acts committed after Irwin's death.

And not to sound too callous, but this sentence is absurdly hilarious: "Lt. Mike Sullivan said the incident occurred on Florida’s Intercoastal Waterway, where stingrays are rarely seen leaping in the air."

1. That is a horrifying story.

2. An invisibility cloak the size of a film-reel canister? It would be just the right size for Hogsmeade Harry!

3. There's no shortage of Odd News.

I read that invisibility article today at work. It's definitely cool, potentially. Appeals to my inner -okay, let's face it, outer- nerd. lol.

In other odd news, a guy in Australia had bolt from an airplane that was flying above crash through his roof. That's right, a bolt that was partially holding that plane together.

Unsettling, to be sure. Not only for him, but the fact that nuts and bolts are falling out of flying airplanes. Wonder how often that happens.

Now that major airlines are OUTSOURCING THEIR AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE to third-world countries, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of nuts and bolts fall off airplanes.

Yeah, I'd vote for the totally effed up option. Ick. My parents are telling me that the weekly bodycount is nigher in New Orleans than it is in Iraq. The psychos + the turf wars = much badness. *wibbles*
