The Wednesday before Raqs's party I bought a purse to be my work bag to tote all my electronics (ipod, camera, cables, and of course the lovely Macbook Air!) and a comb and wallet and a tube of lipstick. It's 17" long x 12" tall x about 5" deep. It zips at the top, has two handles that go comfortably over my shoulder to tuck the bag securely ( Read more... )

I actually bought my drag-to-work-every-day-bag in a local luggage store - it's a black leather bag in a design they call a woman's style briefcase. It's made by a company called "US Luggage-New York" and It's held up beautifully for 4 or 5 years now... I don't see exactly what I have (probably an old style), but this is close and looks like it might work for what you need: http://www.cases2go.com/productview.asp_Q_id_E_31215_A_cid_E_476

I find most of my purses and work bags at TJ Maxx. (Maybe I shouldn't admit that?) The selection in each store is different, but there's generally a *good* selection... and they've started to carry a *lot* more bags that are very work-accessory friendly. There are many name-brands (like some mentioned in comments above), and there are knock-offs, as well. I'd say that all of them are generally substantially less expensive than if you went into a designer store.

Good luck!!
