The Cork's Crew
As you may or may not recall, Cabernet Sauvignon is my muse. In the first sketches of her, I kinda half-decided she was a pirate. This is still true, to a certain extent. She can be whatever I feel like making her, because muses have that right X)
So! As a pirate, she needed a ship and a crew. Her ship is the Cork, and here is the Cork's crew X)
They're all named after wine varieties, because... I felt like it. I'm South Australian. We're big on wine.
The captain, Cabernet Sauvignon. Or in true Aussie tradition, shortened to Cab Sav X) Not her typical hairstyle there, but screw you, she's a pirate for the sake of this... profile thing. She helps primarily with getting uni crap done, mostly the really ooky stuff like 3000 word essays. She also has a thing for boots and generally looking sexy <3
Muse the second, and therefore the first mate, is Semillon Blanc. She's a mesmer in GuildWars who's there to buy all the sexy armour with pants that Lynnlita won't touch. As a result, she also has a thing for boots, as well as masks. She's ALWAYS wearing a mask. Being the muse in charge of drawing, she likes creating pretty illuuuuusions and confusing people with them X)
Sparkling Shiraz had a brief life in GW as an elementalist pre-farmer, so~ she's a bit of a pyromaniac. Not a great thing on a pirate ship, maybe, but if I ever decide I want to make them into, I dunno, a travelling circus or something, she'll fit right in X3 Design-wise, she loves jewellery, but I really only decided this after I'd drawn her face, so no room to actually show off any earrings. Meh. Also, since her charge is Silent Harmony, she loves her a good Liquid Sunset, oh yes X)
(For the non-Aussies, shiraz is a red wine. It often has bubbles put in it like champagne. For some reason, the rest of the world hasn't caught on with sparkling reds yet, but there you go.)
Sangiovese is in charge of painting, so she loves making a mess X3 She loves being DRAMATIC with her capes and swooshiness, and is the principal owner slave of the ship's cat, Rosé (who is pink, but that'd look weird on the picci when Sangiovese is green). If something's worth doing, it's worth doing extravagently.
Chardonnay's fun XD She hates everything and lives to critisise and point out the faults in everything. She always has half her face burried in a scarf, which is probably for the best. The rest of the crew can't hear her bitching so much then <3
Onto the guys, Merlot reckons he's hot stuff XD He's almost impossible to have a proper conversation with, because he has the attention span of a butterfly. He's always flitting from one idea to the next, and voices this frequently. He can be relaxing in a hammok not saying anything for a while, then suddenly sit bolt-upright and go, 'CHICKEN FISH,' as though everyone should know exactly what he's on about. Could also do that halfway through a conversation, you never know XD
Shiraz's younger brother, Sparkling Brut, to rhyme with brute =D He's supposed to be built like a brick shithouse, but drawing this in chibi form was just not working, so~ meh. He's just a bit bulkier than everyone else, now. In my head tho, brick shithouse. He's a bit of a bore and a blockhead, and firmly believes that yelling at things or, failing that, hacking at them with an axe will eventually make them work.
Pinot Noir, because writing French is so very different to writing English. He's an elfie, because... I felt like it. Pointy ears are fun =D I coulda made him a bit more lithe for that, but I only decided this a few moments before scanning and could only be buggered with the ears. Proper, not-chibi pic would be nice and slender =3 He's a gentleman, is Pinot. Loves his stylish coats.
Finally, Grange Hermitage, about whom I haven't really decided anything. Design-wise, he likes hats, and~ he's the ship's chef. That's about all I've got, really.
(The actual Penfolds Grange itself is probably the most expensive red in the country, certainly the most expensive from SA. Might work that into his character somehow *shrug*)
