Help me, ladies. What's so fab about "mineral" makeup? Suddenly I see it everywhere. It's the new trend and I want to know from YOU, not the cosmetic companies who want me to buy it, what's new/different about it.

I like it.

I meant to do a review on it.

I'm not into cakey make-up. Not around here especially and it comes off looking natural while offering coverage. I've only used the face powder kind, though. I know if you go to Sephora you can ask them for a sample of bare escentuals (sp) and they give you a little week size trial. And then you wait til a different girl is working...repeat.

lol.

Also, I took a picture of my face in it...I will post it later. You can decide.

So it does offer coverage? I have uneven skin tone like whoa, mainly very prominent dark circles and faint but noticeable acne scars. Usually 'sheer' makeup just doesn't cut it, but yeah, here it's grody hot and humid in the summer too.

well, I still have break outs and it offers enough coverage. I think there is something you can put underneathe it that makes it adhere better...but I've never used that. You can try the starter kit for about 60 bucks...and I know sephora has a satisfaction guarantee where you can return it for any reason.

It's worth a shot.

1. Easy as hell to put on.
2. Doesn't feel like you have anything on.
3. Looks good and natural.
4. My skin doesn't break out with it.

Give it a go!

I say definitely give it a try. I had serious doubts that it would give coverage, but it makes my skin looks great. And the L'Oreal mineral concealer is the best cover-up ever ever, and it stays put. I'd never have guessed. The only caveat to the mineral foundation ia that after weeks of using it, using the brushes on my skin was kind of hurting my skin a little. But maybe that was the brands I was using, or maybe I'm weird. Just look for a soft-ish brush, I guess.

In that little sample that sephora will give you, it comes with a nice brush. I think it could be used for a while. I mean, it's not like a sample brush...it's the real deal!

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks. I've actually never tried Bare Essential (or Escentual, or whatever) -- just L'Oreal and Maybelline. So maybe I'll go pick up one of them sample kits.

I'm on the other side of this. What I tried was Maybelline though. I have large pores and uneven tone... coverage is good but the minerals have a sparkle to them that didn't work on unsmooth skin. No to Maybelline!

I like it also, mostly for reasons already mentioned; it provides good coverage while looking very natural and when wearing it I can't constantly feel its presence on my face. My preference is for the Bare Essentials brand, but I am going to experiment a bit with Everyday Minerals cause they have a decently sized and free sample starter kit.

Oh, and when I wear it to work the heat of the kitchen doesn't bake it onto me like other types.
