Help me, ladies. What's so fab about "mineral" makeup? Suddenly I see it everywhere. It's the new trend and I want to know from YOU, not the cosmetic companies who want me to buy it, what's new/different about it.

I like it.

I meant to do a review on it.

I'm not into cakey make-up. Not around here especially and it comes off looking natural while offering coverage. I've only used the face powder kind, though. I know if you go to Sephora you can ask them for a sample of bare escentuals (sp) and they give you a little week size trial. And then you wait til a different girl is working...repeat.

lol.

Also, I took a picture of my face in it...I will post it later. You can decide.

So it does offer coverage? I have uneven skin tone like whoa, mainly very prominent dark circles and faint but noticeable acne scars. Usually 'sheer' makeup just doesn't cut it, but yeah, here it's grody hot and humid in the summer too.

well, I still have break outs and it offers enough coverage. I think there is something you can put underneathe it that makes it adhere better...but I've never used that. You can try the starter kit for about 60 bucks...and I know sephora has a satisfaction guarantee where you can return it for any reason.

It's worth a shot.

I've not had great results with it. To be fair, I first tried mineral makeup when it first started getting news in 2002-ish (when I had to buy it from the health food store). I've tried it a few times since in stores like Sephora, and it just looked kinda weird on my skin. I'm super pale, and a like commenter above mentioned, the foundations looked sparkly. I used mostly eyeshadows, and those tended to blend poorly with non-mineral makeup and needed a base so they didn't fall all over my undereye area. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.
