Okay, I'm going to try to get back in the swing of at least OCCASIONALLY posting to LJ, good lord. H-how are you guys?
First of all, a question: the other day

I mean, it's a very silly show, but I really like how it's not about high schoolers (seriously, WHY do vampires keep enrolling in high schools? Really, you're immortal and you drink blood and you're a hundred years old and you've decided precal is the best use of your time???), and that the vampires are dangerous, and that vampires have gone public, and I am weirdly really enjoying how it's set in the South.
Seconding pretty much all of this. Token and I rolled through the first two seasons and the Oh So Southern stuff made me so pleased, just constantly, and the furthest south I've ever lived is, like, Kansas. (There is never, ever, ever going to be anything funnier than Bill politely offering the visiting officers a Fresca*. I need an icon of this.) And the fact that the vampires are public, but far from harmless, pleases me no end, because it makes things so crazy complicated ( ... )

Oh my God, the Fresca offer! That was like, literally my favorite part so far. I thought the Southern stuff might end up being more annoying than anything, but I just REALLY like it, it keeps surprising me. And seriously, the complexity of the situation is really enjoyable and I like SF AUs SO MUCH. A world where vampires go public! Good times!
Hee, it really is doofy, though, and Sookie isn't quite working my last nerve yet, but she's definitely not that interesting. But Tara! She is so excellent! She's totally my favorite out of everyone.
