For some strange reason, these last few days I've been running into various Buffy related news and/or vids. As much as my last post was awsome and fun... this one won't be.

I just read this post at bashippers.

Apparently, a Buffy movie is in the works, but without the master Joss Whedon!!! Also, to make things even more blasphemus idiotic this new "film"

well the movie that the show was based on didn't have any of the people who would be in the show... i don't know, i feel like it wouldn't be the same, but it would be good as what it was.

The movie that the show was based on was and is absolute crap. Joss was the one who reinvented the whole thing and made BtVS the cult tv phenomenon it is.

I don't know... it just irks me bad. Why didn't they just call it "Isabell, the vampire slayer"? You know, keep the universe, but change the slayer. IMO they just can't have someone else play Buffy. She's not James Bond, or Doctor Who or whatever... you know?

At least wait another 5 or so years before you do a reboot!

Sorry about the ranting... the news is still fresh so the anger. :)

Yeah, I can't imagine how much this news pissed off all of Buffy's dedicated fans. I'm not even a huge fan and I think it's completely ridiculous.

Like I said in the post above... they could've at least waited for 5 more years or so to so a remake of the show as a movie, you know?

I know!!! And even though Joss is in the credits he repeatedly disowned that movie because tptb totally ruined what he wanted to do with it.

I have no room to weigh in on the situation, as I know nothing about the fandom, though I've been told twice in the past few weeks that I would enjoy it and really oughtta consider giving it a "go". (I need to finish "Legend of the Seeker" and "Big Bang Theory" catch-up before I go adding another show to my playlist.)

BUT! I, too, have heard much about this non-Whedon movie. Even the radio is talking about it. I never listen to the radio, unless I forget my CDs, which is exactly how I heard about the movie. I didn't realize it wouldn't incorporate the TV series. I thought the same people who did the series are gonna do the movie, but without the original director of the original movie. Idk idk.

Oh yes, definetly. First season is a bit so-so... but it really pays off to stick with it. However I do understand the too-much-shows-on-my-playlist reason. I have the same "problems". *g*

Yeah, that's what I thought when I first read the title of the article... and was a bit iffy about it, but you know... I wouldn't mind that much. But no Joss and no cast?! Too much for my poor Whedon-loyal heart, I'm afraid.

They made complete and utter crap the first time, Joss Whedon made it awesome, and now they jump back on the bandwagon?

Right!!! I mean, they totally ruin Joss's idea in the first flick, the movie was therefore utter crap, Joss fixes it and makes it an awsome show.. now now they wanna make it crap again?! *headdesk* Kuzuis, why so stupid?

I mean it would be awesome if they somehow made it good... I just sincerely doubt that will happen.

I was just thinking that it would be awsome if Joss was involved in the script... I guess in that case I really wouldn't mind all that much coz BtVS is his baby and he would now best what to do and how to do it. But in this case... I really have no faith.
