I am glad you had a lot of well wishes on your birthday. Saw a number on your flist list and I imagine you had quite a few others.
Sorry about the funk. Know that the losses you and your SU suffered this year can catch up especially at the holidays. It was a couple of years after my parents passed away, both right around Christmas, that I was able to look at a more bright side of things.
Have been trying to do Christmas shopping as well. So far I am doing all right, still have some to go, but catching up.
Think I overdid a bit too, as the other night, my neck and back was so stiff, could hardly bend or turn them. Tylenol was my saviour.

You need to take it easy! At least it's not cold for you right now, which I'm sure you're glad of. ;) I think we're going to have one of those hot Florida Christmases this year.

Not sure yet which day we're going to get up to Gainesville between Christmas and New Year's. Hopefully we can work it out better than we did last year, though.

So who are you going to be spending Christmas day with this year?

The new Sherlock Holmes movie opens this weekend! We may wait until after Christmas to see it, though - or not. Playing it by ear.
