Random synapses firing

It's hot. Too hot! Too hot in the hot tub! And last week we had almost too much rain. This week we need rain.

The Spousal Unit flies out tomorrow morning for a day long trip to Michigan and back. I hate it when he has to travel for work. I never get used to it, after all these years.

Those previews for the upcoming Flash Gordon series on the Sci ( Read more... )

If you like the books, though, you may have to treat the show as an alternate universe -- I found that was the only way to reconcile the Harry of the show with the Harry of the novels.

I never read the books, so that wouldn't be a problem - but I did read from some book fans that they had to view the series as a form of an AU to enjoy it.

I watched the first episode that aired and was put off because I felt I was being dumped into a story mid-sentence with no introduction to characters or universe and wasn't impressed. I hate when a network isn't confident enough in its product to air the Pilot or the story in the correct order from the outset (ala Firefly). I heard there was a cut-down form of the Pilot that aired later, but I didn't see it. I caught bits and pieces of a couple episodes later in the season. Again, since the first episode didn't grab me, it was never on my must-see list. But LaT did a pimp post once that intrigued me, so I thought whenever the dvd set came out I'd try and give it another shot, and I was hoping at ( ... )

"Next on James Brown's Celebrity Hot Tub Party: Dr. Joyce Brothers!"

The absolute best part is when Murphy almost cracks up.

Why aren't I seeing new entries on my FList until days after they've been posted? Why why why???

I mean, seriously - Callum at a convention? Live, in front of people? Real people? He does understand that there will be people at this thing,

Oh, Callum. I'm sure he's deluded himself into thinking it will be fun. Does no one care enough about him to sell him a clue??

I'm d/l Eureka right now. I didn't dare look for a recap, since you warned me that the end is actually crucial.

OMG, I'd almost forgotten how slashy the Jordan/Shawn relationship used to be until Shawn and Kyle were talking about what used to be in that scene.

The make-up sex is going to be brutal. *g*

I like the ability they gave to April, and I like how they wrapped up her story line, finally making her useful and independent and responsible for her own actions.I was having a serious hate-on for April in this episode, up until the end. I have trouble watching things like her relationship with Diana because it diminishes Diana so much in my eyes to put up ( ... )

So, the end was satisfying in that it still recognizes that April cannot ever be trusted to do the right thing, and will have minders directing her every action from now on. It gives Diana both the peace of mind she deserves, and protects her from further disappointments from April.

True, plus we had April acknowledging that she couldn't be trusted and needed the minders to keep her on the straight and narrow. So, the growth was there by the end to an extent.

And, of course, Diana finally gets to admit she wants to stay in Seattle - though I wonder how long the boyfriend is going to be happy with that decision? I wouldn't mind if he dropped out of the picture, though, because I've never been all that crazy about him, I have to admit. I like Tom for her - or even Marco. :)
