Spring is in the air and the smell of season finales is everywhere, with some smelling more than others, if you catch my drift. Like, for instance, the Gilmore Girls finale, for which I was completely spoiled and dreaded, and found that it did indeed live down to absolutely every bottom-feeding expectation. Not to mention the fact that it was

*yawn* I don't know why, but I was hoping for some sort of spark, or dazzle before it ended, and it just seemed to drag on and on and on.... To the point where I was asking myself, what was that about? Couldn't they have accomplished what they accomplished in the teaser? It was that non-substantive.
I was especially (and perhaps unreasonably) annoyed by the whole Rory thing. This guy is loaded with a capitol L, went to the trouble of paying off the (wow. awfully, awfully nice) apartment for Rory for a YEAR, and yet the idea of either of them jumping on a $700 roundtrip ticket (less if they internet shop, and use Rory's student discount or Logan's Visa rewards ;)) to see each other once a month is inconceivable? So not feeling the drama of separation here.
The new showrunner has quite a mess on his hands to have to clean up and make some sense ( ... )

If there is a next season, which there had better be.

You've gotta have the Logan angst - that's the money shot, for real. ;) They have to bring it up at least in the (please, please, PLEASE) season opener next year. It won't make any sense if Logan makes no mention of his father's death, if for no other reason than Logan is the beneficiary of his father's fortune, free and clear.

Yeah, really not taken with the goodbye shtick. Like, big deal, the actor's contracted for next season, so please. Not tugging at my heartstrings, not feeling the emo.
Dude. I can't believe you went there. ;)
Yikes! Honestly, I had forgotten all about that. Oy. Except that I wasn't even sure it was supposed to be a legit story anyway. Didn't it show up in some rag, or rag-like blurb? I glossed over it. Besides, a showrunner with emotional hiccups is the least of this series' problems.
Keeping it on the "kids" level made it all the more tragic and horrifying.
I agree, especially in this day and age of school shootings and emotionally fragile kids ( ... )

Deep down I know that RT understands and believes in Keith's importance in Veronica's life and on the series. But, dammit, with character deaths right and left being the New Black of TV drama these days, one just can't be sure anymore. *sigh*

I knew I was forgetting something in my post! That was FABULOUS, man.
I was actually just really glad to see Duncan, which seems to be an extremely unpopular opinion.

I never loved him or hated him. At times he had an interesting place in the story line, and other times he was more of a place holder. I never thought he was a good boyfriend for Veronica, but I liked their friendship, and I thought the character got a deservedly positive send-off. I would have been pissed, actually, if that had not been done right. So I liked seeing him in the finale - he should have made an appearance, and he had one of the best plot points, as it turned out. :)
