Thinking thoughts

Aug 29, 2009 21:02

I seem to have dropped my pattern of weekly posts. I think of all sorts of things I want to talk about and converse with people about while I'm at work, doing something tedious but not engrossing, but when I get home, by the time I fix dinner, scoop the litter box, do laundry and the kitchen. and catch up on LJ and the rest of the Internet, I'm ( Read more... )

Annnd, I woke up at 2:30 this morning, and took an hour and a half or more to go back to sleep, and then overslept. Will go anyway, but it'll be too late to join choir practice.

Rick won't be going to grad school here; he's been with this teacher 7 years (he started with her in high school) and he needs to move on to someone new. He went on an interview to play for Northwestern up near Chicago, which looks very promising. He was asked to return to the Bellingham Festival next year!

Sounds like you've been very busy, too! Enjoy your visit to your former church. It's always nice to go home again.

I love the Reduced Shakespeare Company, even though I've only seen it live once (I've seen the PBS video version at least three or four times). IMHO, it can make me laugh so hard I cry even in the dead of winter, which is saying a fair amount.

The guys who wrote it really do have the most warped sense of humor, and I mean that in the best possible way...

Good thoughts to your son as he heads back to Iraq.

This is the fourth season of doing The Complete Works and they keep it fresh. So much fun!

Thanks - he needs them.

Speaking as an atheist with pagan tendencies, I am perfectly happy to read about your church and your feelings about it- it's part of what makes you Ann, and therefore the interesting person you are.

I'm sure that any church you would belong to would be full of people who can be both still spiritual and think for themselves.

Reading about that kind of a church actually makes me feel good; it's wonderful to be reminded that not all organized religion is like the stuff I saw as a kid. I hope you have a wonderful time tomorrow!

Every church is full of imperfect people. I've been lucky enough to be in some good ones. Thanks!
