Ace and Bacon

Poor Ace! At eighty pounds (36 KG), he is too light to break through the ice covering the snow in the back yard. Savant dug paths for him, but Ace went... is "off-piste" the right term?... and fell, and then lay there on his side in the cold for two minutes while Savant hastily found and put on his shoes and went out to rescue him ( Read more... )

Halloa hamstress! I saw you from savant-da-rat and had to nab a fellow fluffnugget as a friend. Doesn't hurt that your journal seems readable, too, heh.

So yes, hullo. I'll be away for a couple weeks, but p'raps we'll chat later.

Oh dear...

I've mentioned that Kuma is having trouble with his legs too; I've seen him trip and fall in the snow, and even in the house, sometimes, going up or down stairs. He's still able to get up and down when he's going into or out of the house, but I'm worried that I might have to start carrying him up the back stairs soon. *sighs*

Sometimes I see him outside lying in the snow and I get worried, but when I go outside he just gets right up; I think he's just sitting and relaxing. But I worry.

I'll think good thoughts for Ace!

He's about 100 pounds. I haven't had to carry him through any ice and snow, fortunately. I did have to carry him back out of a mine in the Keweenau peninsula last year. He walked down there just fine, but on the way out he looked at the stairs and just balked.

Carrying a hundred pound dog up the better part of 200 steps is not recommended...

That there is a lot of bacon. A small chunk of it might be good for breakfast. Like breakfast meatloaf.

Poor Ace! This cold is hard on old bones. Even here, in California, we've had ice and snow around LA and it was down to 30 the last two nights, locally. Not sure what that's done to the oranges, but it's darn cold for citrus!

Enjoy time with your nephew! I hope he is well!

That bacon thing might be ok if it weren't for the BBQ sauce.
