In the interest of encouraging the poets on my flist, I report that jehannamama has a friend ozarque who got her poem Bordo Crossing published, go see.

It put me in mind of The Eyes of Lucy Jordan, which I love. Small excerpt from Bordo Crossing

Peter, Peter, Potato-Chip Eater,
had a wife and couldn't keep her,
put her in a mortgaged shell
and there he kept her.

I must mention that ozarque is the highly esteemed Suzette Haden Elgin, author of The Native Tongue trilogy and the Ozarks trilogy, as well as The Gentle Art of Verbal Self Defense. She's the awesomest person. Although she would probably deplore my using that word to describe her.
