Batman gone anime!

Coinciding with the upcoming Batman movie there were be an animated movie called Batman - Gotham Knight that will be release direct to DVD (and sniff! on the big screen in Australia). Its a movie made up of six interlocking stories told in the anime style by famous directors. I watched the trailer and an interview video for this today. This is

Makes a change for we Aussies to get something the rest of the world doesn't - and even more so for little old Adelaide to be included! We have been quite lucky here though for anime on the big screen. Mostly thanks to Madman,the company that distributes most of the anime in Aus, we have seen quite a few anime movies at the cinema here - and not just the latest Miyazaki.

I hope the Batman anime comes to somewhere near you soon! My fingers are crossed for you. :)

Color me sad. I just read this on the batman gotham knight blog site ...

Unfortunately Batman Gotham Knight will not be screened in your favorite theater: Warner Bros. and DC Comics have opted for a straight-to-DVD release of this new Batman movie.

I hope you get to see this on the big screen. I will just have to buy the DVD!
