Falling For You

Pain stabbed his muscles, effectively stirring the slumbering man from his coma. He looked around the white room lined with monitors confused, but not because of the unfamiliar location. He didn’t know why, but something in his mind told him that something was wrong and that he shouldn’t be alive.

He lifted his arm from the soft bed he was lying on and examined the limb above him. He tried to flex his arm but found he couldn’t as there were thick bandages wrapped along his forearm to his the base of his fingers on his hand.

The male gingerly lifted his other hand to caress the bandages but when he left the rough material run along his skin, flashes of images attacked his mind. Grabbing his head in pain, his mind became filled with pictures of a pretty high school girl with long black curls, smiling and giggling at him.

He groaned at the hammering pain in his head and turned over in his bed, vaguely hearing the door open and close in his room. He peaked through his long lashes to see a male dressed in a school uniform as well, standing before him.

“Get up Kangin, I know you’re awake.”

The first male, Kangin, looked up from the pillow and stared at the unknown man; he was surprised. “How did…” His question was left hanging as the pretty boy in the uniform sat on the edge of the bed and checked his temperature.

“Hmm, you seem better today. Well then, it’s time for school now!”

With a pull of the arm, the white room dissipated and was replaced with a two level building, which Kangin assumed was his school. Along with the sudden appearance of the school was the uniform that now donned his body. Kangin looked around erratically trying to find answers as to how he had arrived in front of the school and just who the boy next to him was.

As the day progressed, Kangin constantly received looks of pity from the teachers and classmates around him. It wasn’t until the appearance of one of the girls in the school that he snapped.

“Look, I don't know you! Why is everyone looking at me weird?” He couldn’t help but feel betrayed and hurt from the loneliness he experienced through the day. The moment school had began, the boy who was with his had run off to his classes, leaving him behind in the empty halls.

“I-I’m sorry, Kangin. I didn’t think our break up would hurt you that much.”

Kangin looked down at the shorter female and realised that she was the same girl with long black curls that kept appearing in his mind. Just as the girl turned to leave, he flung out his hand and gripped her wrist painfully.

The girl winced but her pained cries did not reach Kangin’s ears. “What break up? What are you talking about?”

“Our break up!” The girl wrenched her arm away and stared at him in fear. “I refuse to date someone like you! How can you ask that of me?”

It wasn’t until after school when he was sitting alone on the soft grass oval that he realised just how much those words hurt. Even though he wasn’t sure who she was, he still felt remorse from the words. As a result, he had been wandering around aimlessly for the whole day as if his soul had left his body and taken his memories with it.

“I heard you’re having a hard time settling back in after your accident.”

Kangin looked up to see the same boy from this morning lying on the grass next to him; they were both watching the sun start to set. After the sky’s colour transitioned into a magenta colour, Kangin realised how tired the boy next to him looked. Even asleep, the boy’s eyebrows were scrunched with a frown etched onto his face. Kangin leaned down and brushed a loose strand of hair that fell over his eyes.

Suddenly, the boy opened his eyes and looked at Kangin. “Your break up changed everything.” Kangin backed up slightly as the boy sat up and continued to talk. “I don’t know what I would do if you had died from that motorcycle accident.”

Looking at his bandaged arm, Kangin whispered, “Motorcycle accident?”

“Yeah, you weren’t thinking straight after your break up. She must have said something to make you think irrationally.”

Kangin looked down at his lap as he remembered the female’s words from earlier.

‘I refuse to date someone like you!’

The unknown boy watched Kangin sigh depressingly and pulled them both up to their feet. “Come on, I’ll walk you home.”

As the pair walked through the busy streets, Kangin was suddenly pulled into a photo booth with the boy next to him piling coins into the slot enthusiastically. “We haven’t taken a photo together in ages!”

Kangin watched the boy talk animatedly but paid no attention to what he was saying, only the smile and the happiness that burst upon his face. Soon enough, the pair was waiting outside the booth for the photos to develop.

Just as the glossy sheets of colour printed out, Kangin felt his head spin and his body become light. The boy spun around and gazed directly into his eye with an emotion that Kangin couldn’t identify.

“Please don’t leave me.”

As those four words were uttered, the pain in his body returned as the scenery around him started to fade.

The next time Kangin woke up, he noticed that he was in the same white room but the only difference was that the unknown boy was asleep in a chair next to his bed and Kangin was connected to various hospital machines.

He took the next few moments to think over what just happened as he watched the boy breathe softly in his sleep. The worry lines remained on his face but Kangin didn’t care. He only saw the angelic face that was his best friend.

The moment he realised that the unknown boy was his best friend, memories started to flood his mind, as he finally understood what his ex-girlfriend was talking about. Reaching out, Kangin was able to caress the smooth skin of his friend’s cheek.

Even though his body was weak and his voice was near non-existent, Kangin was able to whisper a soft promise in the quiet room.

“Don’t worry Leeteuk, I’ll never leave you.”

No, I'm not back and writing! This is my creative writing story I needed to prepare for my English exam and in my mind, I was writing KangTeuk but I couldn't really write their names in =P Altered it for posting~

This is very....vague....seriously, when I get writing tasks at school, I suck at them so much because:

1. It isn't fanfiction!
2. They have some lame ass theme and a word limit! Dude, I can't get a real plot in 1000 words!
3. ...there was a three but I forgot....o_o

Anyways, the topic for this was 'Imaginative Journeys'.....for my trials I wrote Inner Journeys and got a shit house mark....

WELL CYA!

psst.....comments will help me cope ;D
