PSA: rules of fanart usage
Hello there all! I'm Kay one of the mods here at anime20in20 and you may know me as the one that keeps annoying you all about properly crediting fanarts.
Proper crediting of fanarts has always been in the rules here but it's only fairly recently that the penalty has been added and actively enforced. During each round I go through most, if not all, the entries to check if the credits for fanarts has been properly given. If I suspect that a fanart has been used I will usually comment on the post asking whether or not it has been as reminding you to add credits.
In future, I plan to continue commenting on the post itself but I will also send the maker a PM at the same time - if neither the PM nor the comment is replied to I will bring the entry in question up to just_miya and we'll make a decision whether or not to enforce the penalty.
Please do reply to my comment or PM - it would make things a lot easier and would ensure that your entry is not penalised if the icon is not using a fanart. Also, if you notice something that has slipped through the cracks please feel free to PM me about it and I'll follow it up.
Now what I want to see in the credits post. Ideally it would look something like this:
Credit for the original images goes to:
1. YUI6. 空田みらい＠ついった2. masala7. とーや3. もきお8. さつき4. ソララ9. ゆもと@青黒増殖運動なう5. こうすけ10. はづき★6/24 ア13b
But I would also accept:
Credit for the original images goes to:
1.YUI6.空田みらい＠ついった2.masala7.とーや3.もきお8. さつき4. ソララ9. ゆもと@青黒増殖運動なう5. こうすけ10. はづき★6/24 ア13b
Or:
Credit for the original images goes to:
1.6.2.7.3.8.4.9.5.10.
Remember though that when you are linking to the images that they must be to a site where the artist has originally posted it (i.e. usually pixiv) or where the artist is properly credited (i.e. for example with the first image, the site must include: artist is YUI or something along those lines).
Linking sites like zerochan.net or facebook do not count unless the original artist is credited.
Sorry if I seem as though I'm being overly harsh or strict on this issue. Many of us ask for credit when other use our icons so it's only fair to the artist of the art that we are using gets the same amount of respect and credit for thier hard work.
