And we've already seen from the Hobbit that Martin Freeman does a pretty respectable dead faint. (Incidentally, I think in the Reichenbach recap that's still Old!Watson not New!Watson, but the shots are from rather too far away to be able to tell).
I do have to love how different people's reactions to him were. (Man, I can tell already that's gonna garden path like mad. Sorry). Lestrade is just like "oh! you're not dead. How splendid!" Mrs. Hall gabbles incoherently and gives him a big hug. And Watson? Faints. Good old

Yeah, I wouldn't have expected it before the new year at the earliest, given that Series 2 aired in January.
When are the plans for more Sherlock, do you know?
