Take 2

We went back to Shakespeare in the Park tonight and saw the rest of The Scarlet Pimpernel! With Susan this time. It was good fun! But Percy was almost unrecognizable without his Giant Hair. I think Loud Baroque, low-flying Fireflies, home made brownies, and a cool summer evening in the park may combine for one of the finest experiences on this ( Read more... )

I'm pretty sure it did make your ten worst, but not in the mood to go digging....

There are SO many good Doctor Who t-shirts out there right now. I'm pretty happy to have my Doctor Hoo one, though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it did to. But I'm dealing with it better than I expected to. The one I'm really worried about / interested to see if it's any different is "Vengeance on Varos."

YAY for excellent Doctor Who t-shirts! There was a TARDIS in a NASA logo one as well. It's so weird to think of Doctor Who as being mainstream.

Did I tell you? What gwen got me?? It was a poster of the TARDIS...with Doc Brown coming out of it wearing a giant scarf!!!! IT'S SO FREAKIN AWESOME!

...I totally should have gotten that "Hi, I'm Sexy" button. I had a lot of fun explaining to Joel-Henry that all the people in fezzes were a Doctor Who reference.

I don't think of Doctor Who as mainstream, really, just not completely obscure. It's still something that your average person does not watch, it's just that all the American nerds now know and mostly love it.

And you and I are still hipsters for being major classic fans. Muah ha ha.

Yes, I heard. =) I still love the Delorean crashing into the TARDIS t-shirt, personally.

The number of things that are now available as Doctor Who references may just outnumber every other fandom's references together.

It's still a lot more mainstream than I'm used to or really comfortable with. There are...tv commercials for it! Like, on actual tv! That's so weird.

"My favorite character? The Terrible Zodin. You've probably never heard of her."

:P

Yeah, the TARDIS/Delorian crash is the best ever. And the thing I really love about it, which I didn't get at first, is that the "it came out of nowhere" could apply to either of them! Who crashed into whom is entirely a matter of perspective!

"The number of things that are now available as Doctor Who references may just outnumber every other fandom's references together."

...okay point. But, as the man says, fezzes are cool.
