Grindhouse. Ugh. If I turn off my brain, it's full of fantastical awesome. When I turn it back on, I see Cherry Darling displaying her 'talents' and a pretty girl's severed leg and Kurt Russell killing women because... they... because they're WOMEN ( ... )

Faster Pussycat Kill Kill!

Varla talks to Rosie about being shook up after running some speed tests in the desert. Varla asks Billie to get the smokes out so they can have one, and Rosie goes to light one up.

Varla: You're all shook up, aintcha baby?
(As Rosie lights up Varla's smoke)
Varla: Easy baby, you're almost a fire hazard!

It's a girl power movie. An old one.

I saw the last 30 minutes of Bound on LOGO a few weeks ago. I forgot how awesome it was.

Iron-jawed Angels, although feminism kind of implies talking about men on some level.

Excellent choice! And one I've actually seen, so I can just agree with you instead of putting it on my list of things to watch. ^_~

Very true, but it doesn't ping my Offense-O-Meter like most lady-action-hero movies.

I'm here via i_amthecosmos.

Clockwatchers fits. Granted, Jane (Alana Ubach) is obsessed with her upcoming nuptuals and Paula (Lisa Kudrow) has unwanted pregnancy drama, but there's a wealth of non-romantic dialogue. There's a great scene where Margaret (Parker Posey) tells Iris (Toni Collette) about her difficulty with finding permanence in her life.

There's also a conversation between Zoë and Kim about muscle cars in Deathproof. I <3 Zoë and Kim.

Edited because I haven't had enough caffeine yet.

Ugh. Wedding wank. I'd have to see it to tell if the wank outweighed the good.
