I am most pleased that you like it, even if the R/T is only mentioned in passing! Mels lovely art more than makes up for that, yes? ^_^

Any bit you liked better than others? I am so sadly rusty in that fanfic department at the moment!

The mention of Tobias taking the urn, but that might be OTP bias shining through. XD Also I just loved all the small, tactile details--describing Jordan's memories even as she's forgetting them. =)

Ah. We are of one mind of the second part- sections of this fic were slightly me dealing with my dad's passing right after Christmas, so I'm especially glad those parts rang true!

I'm so glad you wrote this. I guess the prompt just begged to be filled with the tragedy of Rachel dying.

I will always love Jordan-centric fic. I like the idea of Jordan trying to figure out her identity in the shadow of her sisters death, and her realizing just how little she knew about her sister, despite feeling so close to her. I love how you wrote Jordan here. I like her anger at the people mourning her sister like they knew her. I like her resentment that Rachel dared to die. I even like her sort-of-jealousy over Tobias seeming more important than Jorand herself. It's an interesting study of a character, and also of Rachel's death. I feel like it wasn't explored enough in the books AT ALL, so I'm thankful for fics like this!

My favorite bits:
The little things are forgotten first- exactly the way her hair parted across the kitchen table in the mornings before it's brushed, the correct blue of her eyes and the way her handwriting slanted this way and before looping the other.

Everyone thought her sister was so freaking ( ... )

I was honestly hoping we'd get some Marco or Jake fic (etc) dealing with Eva/Tom/etc to go with the prompt too, because due to their family situations some truly awesome gen-fic could have been written from their perspectives too, you know? From a 'if it doesn't exist CREATE IT perspective, I'll just have to add that to my really long fandom to do list I suppose.

But yes! Obviously this prompt was mostly All About Rachel! ^_^

Fics like this are another reason why Animorphs is the best fandom, even if it is small.

Fanon should, and almost never does, improve, add on, and enrich canon. Your Jordan fics are awesome and add those little details to Rachel's character that only her sister would have insight into- she totally WOULD be the kind of girl to leave the butter on the counter and take extremely long showers. (And this hits me 'cause those are also two things my older sister does. Urf!) Anyway, love and appreciation! Fabulous writing~

Sorry for the delay in response- oh, wow! Blow me away why don't you! *hugs* I'm really glad this spoke to you- sister gen-fic is a fav of mine as well. (And we're so lucky this verse has so many introduced characters we can do a lot more exploration/head!canon with. ^_^)

Thank you again!

If I was lucky, she would still be leaving her textbooks all over the kitchen counter

Things like that ring so true. All the little details of everyday life and Rachel being a big sister/daughter that we rarely get to see in canon.
