Kid came home for a day and a half after being away for a week, then headed down to Oregon for another fire job. He is not sure how long he will be away this time. It is a 2 day drive down with the big trucks so I expect he will be gone for at least a week, probably longer. I tend to stress too much since I inherited my mom's state of perpetual

It's your job as a Mother to worry about your kid. I do it all the time and mine are not fighting fires. He always sounds like a really sensible human, so I'm sure he makes sure he's safe as can be. Poor Miss Spots - it's cute she misses him.

The cats are totally horrified, LOL. They were all crowded around the windows, and the indoor/outdoor cats refused to step foot outside yesterday.

Poor kitty. she misses her pet! Titan used to do that when I was gone. I used to make me sad to think of him wandering around the house, calling to me. Sigh... Good luck with the chickens!

Kid will be moving out again in December and I think Spots will be staying with us. She is 14, going on 15, and likes the company of other cats and more space to move about. Also moving her too much at this age would probably be hard. At least that should ensure that Kid visits home often!
