Temperament and HP Characters Poll

Oct 03, 2006 17:27

NOTE: If you voted on this poll, thank you very much! Please look here for a list of 56 people whose responses have a problem that will prevent them from being used in the study unless fixed.

I am posting this poll for Aislinn of TLC, who is investigating the relationship between reader temperaments and character likes and dislikes and interpretations. I'm hoping to get a SCRIBBULUS PAPER from Aislinn from this!

Please take the poll! There are 9 questions. If you already know your Jung Typology type, it will just take a few minutes. If you need to take the personality test, it will take a bit longer.

You can take the poll by copying and pasting the text below in a comment here or sending it in an email to Aislinn at dairot3@yahoo.com. OR you can take the LJ poll below. Please don't do both!

THE POLL:
One of the things I’ve noticed when reading the various threads in Potter fandom, is that different people have differing opinions on the various characters. I’m curious to see if this is at all connected to the temperament, or personality type we each possess. In order to examine this possibility, I’m hoping that each of you will be willing to take one of the Temperament tests mentioned below, and also answer the questions that follow.

There are several temperament tests out there. One of them is the Humanmetrics Jung Typology test, which is located here. This one will give you a good picture of which personality type you fit into. If you’d prefer to take a shorter and more entertaining test, there is one based on this same principle, but that matches you up to one of the Harry Potter characters, in terms of temperament. This quiz can be found here.

1. Now that you’ve taken the test, put an X next to the letters that you got as a result:

__ENFP __INFP __ENFJ __INFJ __ESTJ __ISTJ __ESFJ __ISFJ

__ENTP __INTP __ENTJ __INTJ __ESTP __ISTP __ESFP __ISFP

2. Please indicate the top 3 characters you consider your favorites, ranked with a 1 next to your favorite character, followed by a 2 for the runner up, and a 3 for your next favorite.
