Not enough >.< in the world

I hate taking cold calls. I really try to be sympathetic to telemarketers, because I don't think anybody has ever said to themselves, "I'd like to grow up to be a telemarketer." I'm sure they hate themselves more than I can ever hate them, but sometimes, man. When they fire attitude back at me, I stop giving a shit. I'm always polite and civil. I ( Read more... )

Sounds somewhat like what I deal with at work, except I have the customer who always either assumes I'm dumb because I work retail, or doesn't understand the easy (I always go with basic unless I suss out something different from the customer first) spiel I'm giving them. I have had two days of mean people lately and it's just...yeah, common politeness is gone.

I also feel you on the not saying goodbye thing. I would also have the rage of death. ;)

How are you, btw? <333

I hate people who have no politeness to begin with, too. Urgh, sorry to hear that you've had to deal with mean people.

Some variation of a sign off is fine, I'm not too picky. "Thanks" or "have a good day," etc, etc. But the people who just hang up without any conclusive word or phrase drive me crazy.

I'm all right. RL is being RL-y, so I'm kinda in lurk mode. Busy being tired, hahah. How are you? <3333

Okay; my knee is achy like crazy today. But better than it was this morning, so that's good.

Thinking loads about Lancelot, so I'm sure I'll end up writing something tonight *laughs* I signed up for the next Erik/Charles fic exchange too, and I'll be doing Yuletide, so I'm sure I'll be busy. I always get so mad at myself for signing up for ficathons with a due date, but... ;)

Went to the Texas Renaissance Festival this weekend with a friend and met my nephew up there; that was fun. Other than that, just working!

Hope the recovery/rehab is going smooth!

Oh, I didn't know there's gonna be another exchange. That's great! YT is always on my list of Stuff I Will Do One Day, but I'm starting to think it'll never happen. What fandoms are you signing up for?

Did you dress up for the festival? :D

BTW, I would never survive in a movie/TV world where nobody ever says 'goodbye' to each other on the phone. I'd have an aneurysm of rage.

This drives me up the fucking wall. I know it happens in like every movie and TV show, but still, EVERY TIME, I'm like SERIOUSLY WRITERS/DIRECTORS, IS IT TOO HARD TO HAVE PEOPLE SAY "BYE" BEFORE THEY HANG UP? I MEAN. REALLY. WHAT -IS- THAT. WHO -DOES- THAT.

If you've made an effort and said 'no, thank you', and they're still pushing it, they've already broken the bounds of the social contract. Hanging up on them is fine. And by the by, various charity telephone peeps, that includes you too. I have no sense of guilt, the theme of the littlest cancer patient will not work.

That's a good note, that they've broken the social contract. Whether or not they are obligated by their job to push the sale, I shouldn't have to worry about that. It's Not My Problem.

URGH I HATE THAT SHIT TOO. I really really hate the ones that guilt you. I swear, one time, this guy legit said, "but this is for the children." I was so appalled.
