Day 24 - Best quote"Bottom line is, even if you see 'em coming, you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does. So what are we, helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are ( Read more... )

There are all great quotes, but the first one is incredible and just reading it may have given me goose bumps.

I've almost forgotten how epic and awesome Buffy used to be.

AWESOME. yeah, how much meta have you and I done over that Whistler quote?

XD PULLO. I love all of these quotes actually since THEY'RE ALL ONES I KNOW XD. Awesome.

However if I were to go with a Jack Bauer quote it would probably be "I'm gonna need a hacksaw."

Speaking of quotes, watched "Fever" of Seeker earlier and HOLY SHIT at this quote that I had somehow missed before and had to type down:

Rahl, when trying to convince Jennsen that Richard is evil:
"Like so many villains, he believes he's a hero."

HOW DID I MISS THIS QUOTE BEFORE?

Dude, endless amounts of meta. It's such an applicable quote to Cypress. I used to have a print out of that quote preface the binder print-out of my C!fics.

I thought about the hacksaw line, but it's almost overquoted. Like, that's an awesome line, no doubt, super memorable, but that works against it. I loved the conscious line because it's like, lol, Jack said it to a 15 year old kid, and you know he meant it, too. And it has a bit of a Chuck Norris facts ring to it. You're only conscious because Jack Bauer has permitted you to be. :D

That quote from Becoming = ULTIMATE LOVE. That's what made me fall in love with Buffy - and with television in general. Maybe science fiction too. It's sort of what I think of whenever someone tries to tell me that everything on TV is crap. NO IT ISN'T!

It's sort of the penultimate quote for Buffy, too. That's what the show is all about - like yes, everyone has a destiny (even Cordy!) but it doesn't define who they are, nor does it control them. It's not about what you can't control, it's about what you do - and realizing that you have more power than you realize is the first step to actually taking the reins of your own life. It's sort of how I look at my own life, too, in a way. Love, love, love the idea, the quote, the episode, damn. Buffy rules.

YES. You can't control the circumstances of your life, but you can control how you react to it, how you contextualize it. That's where one's power lies.

Ooh, I LOVE those, especially the first one.

(Also, just started watching Rome a few days ago. Whee. Late to the party, as usual.)
