Terminator: Salvation

AKA the movie where I officially stop giving a shit about Christian Bale. Alas, I have discovered that for the past several years, I have wanted to like Christian Bale more than I actually liked him. I thought he was really amazing in American Psycho, I enjoyed him in Equilibrium, but right around Batman Begins, I began to ( Read more... )

tscc, i'd rather be watching star trek, movies, say no to the beef

The funny thing is that I don't think Bale made the movie bad, because as I said, I actually kinda enjoyed the movie otherwise, but only after I divorced it in my head from the rest of the franchise, because YES, exactly as everything you said there. LOL Tom Clancy's Terminator. Oh my god word word word on the wrongness of bureaucracy, of old white guys in a sub. The only thing they got right was Marcus, because T2 introduced the tension of a Terminator gaining human qualities, muddling the water on what makes human human. I loved THAT story, and I wish that story is the whole of the movie. All the war crap, the Connor crap, is CRAP.

I just realized... Bale is like a Caucasian Keanu Reeves. (and that's not a dig on Keanu, who I love)

:O Shut yo mouth. Keanu, at least, is loveable.

And Keanu fits very nicely into his Keanu niche. Like, who else could have been Neo, really?

LOL, Bradley Cooper. Ouch. I thought he was pretty funny on Nip/Tuck, but he was playing a douchebag. On Alias, however, he was supposed to be someone you liked and I couldn't stand him.

Christian Bale will forever be that kid who became a Nazi in Swing Kids for me, and Robert Sean Leonard is all, "YOU'RE TURNING INTO A NAZI!" to Christian Bale and Bale is all, "OH SO WHAT IF I AM?" And then Robert Sean Leonard and Bale are fucking done professionally.

LOL. IDK, aside from having a STUPID NAME, Shia the Beef doesn't really inspire hate. I'm neutral on him. I won't judge you for enjoying his acting.

Yeah, I read that he's on Nip/Tuck, but I stopped watching long before he showed up. He seems to play douchebags a lot, but probably because he has this inherent douchiness to his looks.

LOLOLOL I remember you telling me this before, about Nazi!Bale.

then Robert Sean Leonard and Bale are fucking done professionally

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

The problem with the Beef is that he's overrated. I don't really so much have a problem with him per se, insofar as there are worse actors in terms of ability and attitude. But he seems to be chosen as the IT boy when nothing about him backs that shit up. And sometimes his interviews grate me the wrong way.

Bradley Cooper was very amusing on nip/tuck, but he was a HARDCORE douchebag and not even mildly attractive.

And ahh okay. I honestly know little to nothing about the Beef. All I've seen him in was Indiana Jones and I am one of twelve people who liked that movie and wasn't annoyed by him, so idk.

NAZI!BALE WAS A JERK OMFG. HE MADE FUN OF HIS LAME FRIEND. AND WHEN I SAY LAME I MEAN IN THE LITERAL SENSE LIKE JESUS HEALED THE LAME. IT WAS SO MEAN OMFG.

Well, at the very least I don't like him enough to want to start watching Nip/Tuck again, haha.

All I've seen him in was Indiana Jones and I am one of twelve people who liked that movie and wasn't annoyed by him
