Dude, and Chloe doesn't even know Jack's sick. I notice how Jack purposefully avoided telling her. He knows she's totly in luv with him and didn't want her to lose her shit.
In a sense, Tony gave and gave and gave until he had nothing left. This is what an empty man looks like. This is what an empty man is capable of.
GUH. I love the way you put that. SO FUCKING RIGHT ON. He is empty. Hollowed out.
In a way, and I hate saying this, but I don't necessarily think it's been Jack's sense of justice that really kept him anchored all this time. It was Kim. He still had something personal in the world that he loved. Had he lost Kim, well, I don't think he'd end up like Tony, because he'd just fucking kill himself for real, but a living Jack who'd lost Kim to the job on top of already losing Teri? Yeah dude. Empty.
YEAH, Jack didn't tell her about his being sick. He was definitely avoiding that, and I can understand why. Tony is harsh enough a blow, on top of Bill being dead. But now Jack is gonna die a horrible death, too? Jesus.
It was both funny and sad and touching when Chloe is like, "I'll do whatever you tell me, Jack!" And Jack is like, "NO, you have to be WITH me on this." Which is an interesting exchange.
As much as I'm like o__o at Tony, it seriously breaks my heart to see him like this. He's broken beyond measure. You see Hodges chewing scenery, and you get the blips from other saying how he once did good work, but we GOT TO SEE Tony doing good works. We got to see what he lost, year by year, until he loses that final thing, his own life. But no, even THAT isn't cruel enough. A lot of people still seem to really hate that they've gone so far. But I think this is perfect. I like the idea of a good guy turned bad because of his goodness, which really is what happened with Tony. It's this... grevious tragedy. In doing good, you lose

Jack losing his shit at Janice fucking KILLED me. i had to back the scene up and replay it again and again, my eyes just getting wider and wider with every re-watching.
And DAMN. Chloe's going to be so fucking devastated when she finally finds out about Jack's illness. She's got enough on her plate for sure, but damn... That's going to be a gut-wrenching scene, probably akin to Jack's and Kim's reunion.
EvilBastard!Tony is just... beyond what i have words to express. i totally didn't even click to his possibly taking a shower with the dead body in the room. That's a level of cold, brutal efficienct practicality that i always knew he had in him, just never though i'd ever actually SEE.
I just - oh man I know I *should* - but I can't quite totally just give into Tony being a stone cold killer. I just - I feel like there's something else there. I mean with Cara he's like we could bring down the government and is much more Joker than Two Face. He's her little insane anarchist and she trusts him even though she is insanely condescending

I feel like there's something there with Tony, too. Like, I don't think he's cold, through and through, as much as I say that he's a stone cold killer now. Because he felt bad about killing Larry, and I believe (or maybe I have to believe) that Tony still cares about Jack. But his cause trumps everything. He's still a man who knows that he's doing the wrong thing for what he believes is the right reason. Hodges, on the other hand, has completely lost that distinction. Tony is not that far gone. So there is THAT. I like the discussion in your journal, of the choice that Tony may have to make, about saving Jack or not. Urgh, That'd KILL me.
I kinda wonder if Jack serving the government right now isn't a form of insanity itselfOh I totally think so. It's stubbornness to the power of a million. There is a HUGE death wish streak in what he's doing right now. He was ready, willing, and WANTING to die in the White House. It's just Bill took his place instead. In a weird sort of way, it's almost like the difference in the Hodges/Tony/Jack

OMG RITE? It didn't click while I was watching it. It took somebody pointing it out for me to be like, "uhhhhh."
