I know what you mean about people just driving right by...I've seen it happen a few times. Also, my car really sucks in the snow...and sometimes it gets stuck on the road - it's rare that somebody stops to help push it out of the ice or offer a ride...most of the time I have to call someone to come rescue me. Ya, not nearly as bad as being in a wreck, but it still pisses me off that nobody stops to help when it happens.
