The perimeter's secured and we've got people on constant watch. There's plenty of room and supplies, too. So

[Katara sees the feed and instead of answering via video -- why would she? she's in the house -- seeks Sokka out instead.

Aaand tackles him from behind with a hug.

Maybe not the best idea in retrospect, considering there's a zombie outbreak, but hopefully Sokka recognizes his sister's footfalls.]

Zuko is going to flip when he sees you've posted our coordinates on the network. [A pause, though.] But keep them up. People need to know where to go.

[Nope, he's not surprised it's her. He's already secured the perimeter, and if there's anyone's steps that are familiar to him, it's Katara's. Returning the hug, he grasps his PCD a little tighter.] I think Zuko's wrath is the least of our worries right now.

[Sokka pulls back and looks around.] This place is going to pieces pretty quick. I had to do something.

I know. We're all doing what we can.

[She takes a breath, backs away from him and rubs the back of her neck a little sheepishly.]

It should only last for a few more days. We just have to.. make it 'till then, and take care of the people that were hurt.

[He nods.] I heard our weapons are kind of ineffectual in this case. It doesn't exactly bode well for us, but at least we're on alert.

They haven't. How far from the Northeastern quarter of the town do you live, Monsieur?

[Break knocks a few minutes later.]

Hm? Hey, Break.

[Sokka returns his gaze out at the world and surveys the horizon, eyes settling on the smoke.] You see my message? [He apparently missed yours like a derp.] I thought we'd take in some people until this blows over.

That's a very good idea. But you're going to have to be willing to aggressively prescreen them for bites.

I'll be keeping close watch, don't worry. The last thing I want is to put all of us in danger. [A pause.] You're staying right? Not going out to search for people like Katara and Aang?

I have a feeling a lot of people are going to need help moving around, so it'll be good to have you guys around.

Definitely. [He tosses a sidelong glance at his friend.] If there's one thing I'm practiced in, it's standing guard and waiting for things to not happen. [A joke? Foolish optimism? It's a little of both, but it makes Sokka smile a little, despite the circumstances.]
