Me on IJ

Well, I got an AngiePen IJ. I've always said that for me it's about the people, and one of my very favorite writers is moving. As in moving moving -- leaving LJ and no longer updating her LJ journal, and she posts her fics locked so a bookmark or an RSS feed won't do. There you go -- to me, that's a reason to get an IJ.

I'm not moving moving ( Read more... )

OK, this is weird. Everyone else I friended just became my "friend," no problem. I friended you but you still weren't showing as a friend. But when I went to friend you again it said you were already my friend. So I went back to look at my profile and you weren't. [headdesk]

I created a "Default View" custom group and added everyone (including you) to it and that fixed it, but damned if I know why. :P Whatever, you're there now. [facepalm]

I've got an IJ too but am not planning on using it at all so I wouldn't bother friending it!

If it's just a placeholder then that's cool -- give me a holler over there if you ever do start using it. :)

I don't know why but all this saddens me a lot. I hate the WFI.
Anyway, Chaosmanor's leaving (I assume you're talking about her, but it doesn't really make any difference) prompted me to create an IJ as well.
I have already friended you, but I hope to see you around here for a long time still (I seem to keep saying this!).

Yes, it was her. [sigh/nod] But yes, LJ will be my primary home for a long time, unless LJ management finds a way to stuff it up significantly worse than they have. So long as most of the people I want to hang out with are here, I'll be here too. :)

I set up accounts on GJ and IJ and just added you to my flist there. I only know one person who deleted their LJ and officially moved but I can't help but hope that most people don't actually move. People seem to be leaning in three different directions and I just don't have the energy to be active in more than one journal. Plus I'll never be on the third journal so if everyone goes to JournalFen it'll just be incredibly frustrating.

(Plus I can't figure out half of the preferences on those other two journals!)

I've had a JF journal for a couple of years; I was playing in Citadel for a while, which is over there. It's not a bad place, it's just pretty dead if you're not into either RPGing or wanking. [wry smile] I've been cross-posting my fiction there for a while, as sort of a back-up or whatever, and when I went looking for some fic coms to link it to I found nothing. There were a couple of coms that were LOTRiPS but they were dead, and even in their heyday had never been really active. So.... [shrug] If it weren't for a few friends from Citadel who are active over there but not here, I wouldn't keep up my JF journal at all. As things stand over there, I have no interest in making it my online home base. I don't DISlike it particularly, but it doesn't have the kind of fic-based community I want ( ... )
