It's always annoying to be reading a book, even a work of fiction, and come across places where the writer is pretty clearly faking it and doing a horrible job. When there are things you know are false being blithely tossed about, with no apparent plot-related reason for stretching the truth or twisting a fact, it's hard not to think some scornful ( Read more... )

I just discovered something lovely. [cough] My other journal is a basic account and when I use it to visit certain journals (both personal and community) I find that there's a back-button trap installed. Well, I got an AngiePen IJ. I've always said that for me it's about the people, and one of my very favorite writers is moving. As in moving moving -- leaving LJ and no longer updating her LJ journal, and she posts her fics locked so a bookmark or an RSS feed won't do. There you go -- to me, that's a reason to get an IJ.
