Well here it is guys. The final chapter of Runaways. There is an epilogue that is written and beta'd. Just have to go through and correct the errors. Now, we've been basically posting this story one chapter a week. So if we stay on the schedule, the epilogue won't be posted until this weekend. But if you would like to have it soon, we can be

This was always going to be a painful chapter, with old memories racked up! Well handled, the therapists seemed very accusary, but they are getting there together. Just what should be!

Therapy is a necessary evil sometimes, but we knew Spike and Liam had far more serious baggage than they could handle alone and they couldn't be together if they didn't work it through. We couldn't drag it out in the story so we kind of jumped in with the superangsty sessions right away so we could get on with the loving relationship! Which is where all of us wanted them to be.

unfortunately, i didn't get started until 3 a.m., and an hour and a half later (I went back and picked up a little "previously, on Runaways..." before starting this chapter), no matter how stubbornly I try because I'm in the middle of one of your beautiful love scenes, I just can't hold my eyes open. **sob**

I'll finish it in the morning--um, the later morning--and feedback then. Sorry! I *so* wanted to keep reading

Thank you dfagiles, as always, for your supportive comments. I save your words and read them when I get to a rough spot in writing and I am encouraged.

I believe I told you that I never had the desire to write a story until I met Angel and Spike. It is the characters that are the inspiration. They have such great hearts, even if they are unbeating and their pain and sadness are the stuff of the great myths. Their stories beg to be told.

Take the plunge with us, there is so much more to be told about these two great vampires/men under what any name you choose. You obviously have the passion and vision and I know you will find the wonderful support that we have been so fortunate to receive.

Perhaps we'll meet someday at a Writer Con and share our published stories - until then -Betsy has a sack full of plots so you'll continue to see us here.

Perhaps we'll meet someday at a Writer Con and share our published stories I'd really love that. Do you two go to Mediawest? That's the only convention I can afford because they use GoFers and the host hotel and overflow hotels are relatively inexpensive, so piling up in rooms makes the stay next to nothing. It's an extremely nurturing environment for writers. A lot of gen fic writers have complained that it has become a slash con. LOL They still have gen panels, though. I didn't even start reading/writing slash until about a year ago. Before then, I was of the "eeeew, ick!" crowd. I had nothing against homosexuals; I just wanted what they did to stay in the bedroom. **lowers head in shame

No, they still are troubled men but they're slowly stepping out of the tunnel and they finally are able to admit their love...this is how it will end in real life!

Now about the begging thing for the epilogue...*drops to her knees* Oh please post it soon! I'm going out of town this saturday and I won't get back till Tuesday so if you post it this weekend I won't be able to read it till Wednesday...it's an eternity!!! Pleeeease!!! *looks at you with wide teary eyes*

We're glad you appreciated the segueway into a little therapy. As you said: "they still are troubled men but they're slowly stepping out of the tunnel and they finally are able to admit their love...this is how it will end in real life!"

We hoped that readers would see that they were too damaged to go on happily and since we try for a realistic scenario we knew we had to get them onto the couch a bit.

I loved your "slowly stepping out of the tunnel" comment - that's exactly what we thought -from darkness and despair into the light of love. (yeah - I'm a sappy romantic!)

As for your begging - the Epilogue is finished and betad and I'm pretty sure Betsy will post it before the weekend.

Thanks for this. That is something that bugs me in some fics. Yes, they can end up together and happy, but that doesn't mean that their differences/problems go away immediately. Love doesn't cure all, it just helps to keep you around long enough to work out any problems. Also doing so doesn't make the story or the characters realistic.
