Destiny Ficlet #1, ~300, pg darksagegrl0 February 9 2011, 14:39:26 UTC
Hi there! ^_^ Thought I'd give this a try so here goes. I might do some more and collect them at my journal later too.

Destiny #1

‘Go away.’ Merlin tries in vain to shut out the dragon's booming voice, but finds it rather difficult seeing as its actually in his head. It's been a week since he last went down to talk to the dragon, and it's been bugging him with its obscure ramblings about his and Arthur's destiny. It's rather annoying by now.

That's not to say he finds Arthur being his destiny annoying - well he does, but that's only because Arthur himself is annoying, the prat - it's just kind of creepy that an overgrown lizard with mythical cryptic message powers keep talking about his sex life - destiny, whatever.

‘Two sides of the same coin… You are his other half Merlin… He is your destiny… Your paths lie together…’

Merlin groaned. He really wished the dragon would shut up now so he could get some sleep. ‘Yes, I get it, Arthur and I are destined to have wild, kinky sex until we’re old and gray and Albion unites as we share ( ... )

It's strange, Arthur thinks - but this is long after. There’s a story before this, before how it starts ( ... )

(I really just wanted to have a little bit of Arthur and Merlin light hearted bickering and Merlin wearing some Vibram Five Finger shoes. I had this scene stuck in my head but didn't want to write anything long, so this came along at the perfect time! )
~~

“Come on, Merlin, you have got to be kidding me,” Arthur said, gesturing to the shoes that hugged Merlin's feet like a glove. Merlin just gave him a smug grin, wiggling his toes in the rubber and polyamide shoes, “You can’t go running in those. They’ll kill your feet ( ... )

King Arthur. Queen Guinevere. The Knights of the Round Table. Mordred. Morgan le Fey. These are the names and titles that echo down through history, larger than life. They are whispered of with reverence, with awe, but with no regard for who they actually were ( ... )

What a great idea! I can't wait to see what people come up with!

Eating Crow

“Go away, Merlin!” Arthur shouts, or, well, croaks quite loudly since his voice will not cooperate with the shouting part. Merlin just huffs at him with a glare, hands on his hips as if that made him more formidable. Arthur thought it just made Merlin look like the nursemaid he had when he was 6.

“Stop being such a baby!” Merlin tells him, in what Arthur supposes is his ‘stern voice’. Arthur just glares at his idiot manservant again and subtly looks for something to throw.

Against his will, Merlin is shoving him forcibly back into bed and shoving a vial of something putrid in his face.
“Take your tonic!” Merlin demands, “Gaius said it will help.”

“I am not sick!” Arthur protests pushing Merlin’s hand away.

“Ugh! Fine!” Merlin shouts, placing the vile vial on the nightstand before throwing his hands in the air. “You want to train when you’re sick, fine!”

Feeling victorious about getting his own way, and mentally reminding himself that his throat was ( ... )

In Control

Hi there and wow, this is such a fab idea! I hope it really bounces into action today. This will be epic amounts of fun.

In Control

Course, sometimes Arthur was gentle when they were alone. He would run his fingers through Merlin’s hair, pausing when he hit a tangle because his dark locks were growing past and covering his ears now-- something Arthur pointed out with a pinched voice and distant expression. It wasn’t those times that Merlin liked though.

He sometimes felt wiser than Arthur, he had this great power over things-- over nature-- but Arthur was infinitely wiser. Not because he knew more, they both knew equally the same amount, but because Arthur had a sort of power of Merlin.

Arthur could disarm Merlin with a fiery look, melt him with his fingertips, expose him with whispered confessions, and control him with every time they joined together.

I never write fic, so eeee, here goes nothing.

A Moment

Together, Arthur and Merlin will unite all of Albion. At least that is what the dragon once said.

Most of the time, when Arthur is being a prat or when another entity is trying to kill the prince, Merlin thinks he'd be lucky if Arthur makes it to king let alone uniting all.

Right now, though, with Arthur and his knights sitting together at the round table, Merlin cannot see how it will not happen. When Arthur looks over at him, Merlin sees trust and friendship, and most of all, the ability to bring about destiny.
