Of course, it's quite possible that Ronon's not entirely serious and is just screwing with McKay's head to make him work harder to gain and keep Keller's affections. *shrugs*
there was a deleted scene in Trio where Keller says "yeah we thought something might happen but it kinda didn't"
and then in uhh the s4 finale I haven't actually seen, there is canon rodney/keller but that's an AU that is somehow, in the context of the episode, rendered moot, so *handwavy* and they do a bunch of flirty in Trio and uhm something this else this season. I haven't been watching but have been reading the reactions, heh.
Also to add to lanna_kitty's explanation: a few episodes ago in The Shrine, Rodney also confessed that he loved her while they were doing daily recordings to monitor his memory loss day-by-day. Keller saw it, but it's kind of left unsure if Rodney remembers saying it or not.
So yeah, Ronon/Keller got, like, one episode, while Rodney/Keller has been focused upon one level or another for various episodes. AU eps and otherwise.
I don't know, I suppose Ronon/Keller bothers me because Malena was both blonde and a nurse. It just feels too much like a patch job to me, Ronon finding another woman who is blonde and a medical professional.
Rodney, on the other hand, is getting a good slap from irony. He's always mocked the medical profession, and now he's fallen in love with a medical doctor. Fate's a bitch, isn't she?

Then there's the whole thing of we haven't seen them really interact at all since "Trio" but now suddenly he loves her.
Of course, we've barely seen her interact with Ronon and then she says nothing happened in 'Trio' but now they've been spending time together off-screen even while Rodney was falling madly in love with her. Or something. *headdesk*
There's a reason this show should never do canon ship outside of single, contained episodes.
I'm so bitter about ships these days that I'm quite happy to let everyone just be buddies on the show, and let the shipping be left strictly to the fans. We usually do better with it anyway. ;)
