So, every so often. I get some trickles from the Five Rings Online players who still hate themselves and play there. Every so often it's pretty lulzy and I do post here. The lack of social rule enforcement is the only thing I really hated about FRO. I never got powerful enough to draw the ire of any of the GMs. But you could do pretty much anything in that game and never suffer consequences. An example: I repeatedly insulted, and then assaulted, a Scorpion who I believe was a ninja. In proper L5R, I'd either be poisoned or forced to shamefully commit seppuku. Note that I insulted and assaulted this Scorpion in the middle of a multi-Clan effort to purge the Shadowlands, and both I and my superior officer are Crab. So, here I am throwing a wrench in the works of an effort to fight the Shadowlands, while potentially souring relations with the Scorpion (even more than they normally are). Oh, and every once in a while I'll have a flashback and start ranting about absolutely nothing, or attacking folks. My officer's reaction basically amounted to "Well, I guess it's OK if you beat the hell out of each other, but try to be able to fight tomorrow." That was about when I stopped playing. ...and this is why I merely stick to playtesting. They tried to get me into FRO, but the format irked me a lot. I guess this is more incentive to not play FRO.

It says a lot about this FRO that I designed my current PC with the intent to have fun /despite/ the GMs.
