Hey sweetie. I just got PS2 in the mail off of ebay. Can you get even more elementary for me and tell me how to crop a 100x100 square? I was told last night maybe use ALT or Shift while cropping. Is that right?

Oh dear, I was just going to ask you if you'd have a tutorial 'round here somewhere. Careful what you wish for! I've got PS7.0 so I'm not sure how much of that will translate but I'll try regardless.

I think I already know I need to invest some time in searching for nice textures and brushes. Thanks for putting this up! Any help at all is always appreciated!

it shouldn't be too different, the select thing will be on the tool bar rather than at the top and its actually more convient to use on earlier versions

Beautiful!!!!

Do you happen to know the name of the brush maker, so I could go download that brush?

I want to try this tutorial at home this evening!

Question:

I downloaded them, but the downloads don't contain any .ABR files.

In the past when I've downloaded brushes, they have been .ABR files and I've put them in the >Photoshop 7.0\Presets\Brushes folder.

These are .png files, and I don't know where to put them.

Sorry for the beginner-ish question.

Okay, question. What are brushes, layers and textures and were do we find them? Are they created by artists and posted in their LJ or on icon communities? And when you use their stuff, where do you credit them? In the post where you show your icons, or always and constantly in your user info?

And do you save the brushes and textures and frames, etc. on your hard drive, just as you would save your finished icons? Or do they get saved within the PS program?

Okay, that was more than one question. Sorry.

I go to 100x100_brushes for all of my brushes and for my textures I go to icon_textures you have to credit the maker of each set you download/use. I have a resources page like This if you are making yourself an icon journal you can make the post there, and link back to it in your user info, so people can see they are credited

as for the brushes, I make folders for them on my desktop because if you install them directly into the program it slows them down. I made a tutorial on how to use brushes in photoshop.

Tutorial for use of Brushes. My view of Photoshop may look a little different from yours, but the basic tools are the same.
