Nostalgia... for LJ and other stuff

Feb 09, 2008 22:19

I know I've been remiss in keeping this dear little spot updated, and I apologize. I've been preoccupied with other stuff, online and in life. I'll see if I can't get back to writing/iconing/blogging soon ( Read more... )

fandom, rogue, x-men, rant

Dear you, indeed.

I do say mature with a questioning air, you'll notice. Perhaps "open minded" would be better? Instead of just assuming that that all romance is of the fairy-tale variety, with two lovebirds only ever been destined for each other, I accept the fact that people can fall in love with a variety of people depending upon all the different meetings, interactions, and such things... I was really very young when I first entered the fandom, so I tend to think a little more realistically now...

Rogue/Emil? I wouldn't mind seeing it... ^_^

No need to apologize for being busy. Life happens. I sometimes disappear from fic and LJ for months at a time, until people begin to wonder if I'm actually dead, as you well know. :)

I agree with the other poster who said it's all about being open-minded, as far as shipping goes. And how you define OTP. For me, my OTPs are relationships I wish were canon. That does not mean I cannot enjoy other ships when they are written well, just that they are not my absolute favorite preference. I actually read Tim/Roy fic once, not because I feel either of them are gay or attracted to each other in canon, but because it was actually so well written I could suspend my disbelief sufficiently.

By the same note, don't think Kory/Cassandra Cain could happen either, but it's still my favorite DCU crackpairing because the one fic I read of it was just characterized so well. Sometimes I wonder why we haven't seen Lian/Traya futurefic, actually. Not that I want it particularly, but it would be less disturbing than Lian/Sin by a large margin.
