Some upcoming stuff that's got me thinking...

Batman #666--Basically? Damien Wayne becomes Batman and does a deadly dance with the Devil. I probably won't even read this, but the concept alone held some annoyance for me. Now they wanna bring the concept of Damien back? After killing him...what? Two issues past introduction ( Read more... )

Yeah, I was pretty bummed hearing that was the plot for Batman 666. They could have done so much better. Damien's death was ambiguous at the end of that arc. Frankly, I'd like to see him come back and make a try at being a good guy. A trainee sidekick? They could call him The Shadow... Batman's Shadow!

Kris ideal Batman 666: Batman finds himself traveling to hell and beyond to rescue Jason's soul and return it to his body, ultimately having to outwit and outfox Satan/Neron.

And Captain Carrot, FTW! That might just be my favorite Dan Didio press confrence post evar.

Batman's Shadow...*giggle* Yeah, I can see that. Now picture Jason returning to the bat-family only to lay eyes on the strangle-able lil' twerp...

I like your 666 sooooo much better. In fact, if Bruce simply knew that the souless thing was what was was wrong with Jason in the first place, I'm sure he'd have gone ahead and done as you've described already.

Yeppers. Knew D.D. had to be good for *something*.

The killer thing is that they have the PRIME opportunity to set it up! Right now, Bruce is in Star helping out Ollie out with Red Hood's team up with Brick. Ollie *saw* Jason's soul in Heaven when he was there after he died... All it would take would be Ollie saying "Man, he seemed like such a good kid when I was in Superhero Heaven with Barry." Only to have Bruce reply, "Heaven? But Jason was dead and revived a year before you 'died'. He was only dead for a few weeks..." Then they realise that Jason's soul is in heaven and Bruce and his other two boys go to save the wayward son!

Why do I suddently have this mental image of young Jason suffering from a split-personality with 1/2 singing with the angels and the other suffering well-deserved torment under Neron?
