I've done my best to make this advanced review as spoiler-free as possible, but nonetheless I'm talking about an issue that won't be released till tomorrow, so reader beware!
Thank you for posting this review. I can't comment until I read the issue, but it sounds pretty good. Except Xander. I expected the development of a "dark Xander" arc.
Thank you for writing this review (also: i hope one day You'll be as green with envy as i am right now! :-P).
Maybe the "play it safe" is a writer thing when confronted with a living legend amongst the mere mortals who try to write pop culture. Like, nobody wants to f*ck up in the face of Whedon.. ;-)
Will You be doing regular reviews from now on? And, do You like chocolate? Are You open to bribery?
If yes, then from now on i'll refrain from reading FAQs, interviews or lesser reviews beside yours.
(Waaah! I have to work tomorrow! And the day after that, too! Cruel world! I cannot indulge in online life, discussing and fanning over the new issue!)
Congrats on getting to do an early review! I look forward to reading the comic tomorrow. It's hard to comment more without having read it. (Any juicy spoilers you want to spoil now? I am 100% against the idea that we should avoid spoilers. You have my email address!!!)
Thanks, Maggie! There's not a whole lot to spoil, but I will say my favorite scene in the issue, the one that felt the most emotionally resonant, was the one between Buffy and Spike. You could sense a depth to their history -- you can tell Chambliss enjoys those two interacting (like he said forever ago in an interview!).
I'm hoping to pick up my comic tomorrow while I'm in that area. It'll be my luck, though, that they don't come in on time or something that makes it impossible for me to get it tomorrow.
