Indulge my curiosity for a moment, if you please.

What exactly do we know about... well, anything in this place? Why the crowns? Why the temples? Why the mist? Why these Fair Folk? What, if anything, works on them?

The basic answer to everything you just asked is probably 'Magic'.

[Cheerfully.]

And now the answer of someone who has thought about it?

If you think and come up with something that doesn't in the end basically point to large energies of magic and omnipresence, keep me informed.

I've long lost interest in trying to work out the 'rules' of this place myself but I'd still like to know if someone else works anything out.

How, by the by, does the answer 'magic' fit the last question? Have you used some and proven it to be unequivocally so?

So it does...

But Sir, is it wise to keep things from the other people here? Surely we need to be as open and honest as possible?

Well, Kururugi, if you would like to blaze your laundry list to the community, don't let me stop you.

[North does not want to talk out loud to you Lloyd, in case the sound of his voice triggers you into remembering what happened the other day]

You should ask the temple guardian, I think he bought us here to protect us from a worse fate.

Um... Yeah, the forge seems safe too. Might wanna look into that scrawny. No fae seem to go in there.

Forges. Got it.

Who the guardian? I don't think anyone knows his name.

Um... Hey so, the crowns, they are made of Rowan and um... Don't know why exactly but, the bad stuff here doesn't like it. If that helps any. [The young man laughs nervously and adjusts his glasses]

Howdy! Rowan, you say? And do they dislike any other kind of wood?

Um... Not that I know of. There are pesky creatures around here, but there are also really dangerous ones. The first night I was here, there was a dark rider on a horse, and he was trying to steal away one of the residents.
