Yay for you standing as councillor. I was asked to stand as a paper candidate for my ward, but couldn't because I knew I couldn't make it to the count, stupid rules.
Yeah, the rules kinda suck. Filling in the application forms is bad enough - ANY mistakes and it gets thrown out. Also, even if you're a paper candidate (as I was) and spend nothing on campaigning you still have to fill in the official expenses form and file it with the council after the election.
But yeah, it was an interesting experience to stand and I'll probably end up doing it again.
Yeah, some time flew by and I have no idea where it went...as it does. I've been keeping up with my friends page but failing to post. I was quite shocked when I noticed it had been three weeks since I posted.
And thanks. Obviously I didn't do it for praise but praise is always appreciated. It's quite a bizarre experience walking into the polling station and the guy gives you a knowing smile when he checks your name on the register and then you look at the ballot paper and see your name on it.
