Oh, I dare...andyleggettJune 30 2008, 08:47:57 UTC
1. You once told me that Afrikaans is your first language; why did you decide to write in your second? 2. Is South Africa pretty? 3. How would you compare lingering racisms (and for that matter, sexism) is SA, as compared to, say, America or another country whose culture you are familiar with? 4. Do you have curly hair? I've always wondered what that'd be like... 5. Oh, and what's up with your upside-down-lion-head-icon?
1. What do you say to the argument that queerness is not a choice but in one's nature? 2. For that matter, how do you feel about transexuality? 3. Do you like French cinema? 4. You live in Rancho, right--is it true that there is some kind of Go Kars out there? 5. If you had to live somewhere else (in Sacramento), which neighborhood would you choose and why?
Sorry, needed time to think about these...andyleggettJune 30 2008, 08:49:54 UTC
1. Do you like memes... A LOT? 2. How do you feel about your poetry (that is, what purpose do you think it serves in your life)? 3. What activities do you find most calming? 4. What would be your ideal birthday cake? 5. I love that chocolate-eating icon... Est-ce que tu aimes le chocolat noire ou du lait?

1. Not really. Often I'll do one of those quizzy things and not post the results. I do like memes that encourage people to reveal more about themselves; things you wouldn't know without asking.
2. Purpose? I don't know, exactly. There are things I need to say, and poetry seems to be the only language I can say them in. It serves no practical purpose in my life, but it feels neccessary. Although it waxes and wanes--I haven't written anything in months, but I'm starting to think about it again.
3. Reading. Being near open water, lake or ocean. Sex.
4. A chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, made for me by my daughter. (I got that for mother's day, actually, and it made me very happy.)
5. Dark chocolate, the darker the better. Milk chocolate just seems like a weak sister in comparison.
