New Family!

*giggles* I'm so excited! By next Sat, I'll be having a new family member! Lizz (the breeder I've been chatting with) is coming over next Saturday, and if I understand what she's implying, she'll likely bring Mirage and Illusion (the two chins I've been looking at). If all goes well, hopefully one of those beautiful girls will be staying with me ( Read more... )

Ohhh...that does sound like a good deal, indeed!!!I was just going to say 9$ for a bag of food is too much, before I read the rest of the post!:P

I hope you get your much desired pet,my dear-maybe both of the little guests coming, hmm?;);)And I do want to see piccies when you have her!!!;)

EDIT:Forgot to mention:I'm not sure it's doable for a chinchilla, but we used ot have canaries and my mom did this to the bottom of their cages to kepe them from hurting themselves, or to keep their eggs from breaking if they fell out of the nest...when it comes to bedding, you can get some cotton or hay-if it's preferable for the animal-and some soft, flannely fabric and sort of make a pillow around the wire mess at the bottom of the cage, trapping the metal under the cotton and using the fabric to keep the cotton together!Your chin would have a really soft cage floor that way!;)

I think I might take the dust bath back too. Everything is so much cheaper through this website, and I get more for the buck. Wish I knew that before I bought the stuff, but ah well ;)

I would take in both, but the problem is Mirage won't accept another cage mate. I'd need another cage. I will definitely take pics!

Well, I can't cover the entire bottom, because the pan underneath holds the bedding. It's designed so that I don't have to take the chin out of the cage to change the litter bedding. I might cover the levels though, to give her something soft to jump onto. I'd have to use fleece though, because anything else is bad for her digestive system if she decides to nibble. Fleece won't block her like cotton would. Luckily fabic stores have scrap bins, and many breeders on the chin forum have usually found enough fleece to make 4 chin-sized hammocks ^_^
