Fired, or Headhunted?
Another oddness: So far this week I've had 2 calls to recruitment agents that have gone along variations of "Oh, XXX no longer works here".
Twice? In one week?
In both cases I'd spoken with them very recently. (One I heard on Tuesday, having spoken to them on Friday, and the other I heard today, having spoken with them on Monday). In both cases, I'd got no indication of any incipient move... And in both cases, they were among the more useful of recruitment people - switched on, knew their industries, built good relationships, and put forward sensible and relevant vaccancies.
Any clue if this is normal? Maybe end of September is quarterly review time and the agencies get rid of underperforming staff? Or is it likley they'll pop up in the not too distant future working for someone else?
