Another oddness: So far this week I've had 2 calls to recruitment agents that have gone along variations of "Oh, XXX no longer works here

Odd. I know a couple of Jim's contacts quit or went on a sabbatical to travel, taking advantage of the downturn, but they had the good grace to let him know they were going.

I suspect it's either being removed for not achieving targets, or moving to somewhere else. Seems their colleagues (in at least one case) didn't have much warning, either, as they were scrabbling round trying to pick up the pieces...

I'd be wary of taking a contract from an agency where the useful people have just left. :-)

Good point... Wish I knew why, though.

Pity it's 2 of the better agencies, the ones who actualy seem to have relevant vaccancies...
