So, to cap off my weekend, Shaenon and I decided to take in the new X-Files movie with our friends Mohamed and Jen. It's a Sunday night and the movie hasn't been tearing up the box office, so we figured we'd have a nice, empty theater and have ourselves a nice, relaxing moviegoing experience ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'll agree that saying something has a lower "kill me" factor than seat-kicking.

Barring that, once you're in the restroom you should strip naked and assume a karate stance. That old trick has spared me from many a duel.

Ahh...the Steve Martin approach. Nobody wants to mess with you if they think you're completely out of your mind.

Yeah, I usually just do the shushing thing, but I generally end up having to do that every ten minutes when I'm stuck behind a talker. Maybe I should just invest in a nice taser...

Yikes. That is a really scary experience. I gotta agree that shushing or asking them to hold it down is a safer way to start off. The trouble is, you never know if *anything* is going to be effective.
