I had a paid survey yesterday, somebody is polling data on how the British public would react to a 5-10% increase in food costs, and if that means they'd accept imports of cheap chlorine washed growth hormone packed GMed clone garbage from America, if it was cheap enough, and would they give up food safety standards for cheapness.

So yeah, it's being seriously pursued.
