WTF Europe? How can they suspend Portugal's democratic right to elect their own parliament?!

Does that mean essentially the Right has staged a coup?

"Europe" hasn't done anything. Portgual's President has followed their own rules of election - in much the same way that The Queen gets to choose who gets first go at forming a government in the UK...

Right, gotcha. So they'll try and form a minority government, face a vote of no confidence at the first opportunity, and the opposition will get their shot.

Seems a pointless gesture.

It does seem remarkably pointless, and I don't understand what they hope to get out of it.

I keep hoping someone more knowledgable will explain it to me!

Every attempt in the history of the world to stop people from paying for sex, using mind altering substances or gambling has only made things worse for people.

I do find it interesting how differently the word "sauna" is used in different parts of the world.

Here it's not for female prostitutes, they are places where gay men go to meet other gay men for semi-public anonymous sex.

Yup, and yes - I've seen them used that way too. Probably depends on the specific sauna :-)

And sometimes I hear they are even places where people just go to have a sauna.

The cheek!

Yeah, like here in germany ... a sauna is a spa or spa-like facility where people go to ... well, to go to the sauna. Lots of naked people involved, but usually no sex at all ...
