Every attempt in the history of the world to stop people from paying for sex, using mind altering substances or gambling has only made things worse for people.

I do find it interesting how differently the word "sauna" is used in different parts of the world.

Here it's not for female prostitutes, they are places where gay men go to meet other gay men for semi-public anonymous sex.

Yup, and yes - I've seen them used that way too. Probably depends on the specific sauna :-)

And sometimes I hear they are even places where people just go to have a sauna.

The cheek!

Yeah, like here in germany ... a sauna is a spa or spa-like facility where people go to ... well, to go to the sauna. Lots of naked people involved, but usually no sex at all ...

The German's are sensible enough to have legalised brothels for the places for people to go to have sex at, instead of needing to go to sauna's instead?

I'm sure I read something recently about there being a 'super brothel' in Germany. So I assume there's more than one.

Yeah, we do have legal brothels, actually since 2001 prostitution is legal in germany. In the city I live there is one of the biggest brothels in germany (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascha_(brothel)).

Can only be good for the girls and boys who work at them.

In Edinburgh you need to be careful about which sauna you go to or you risk an embarrassing mix up.

As of not-that-many-years-ago if I was having a massage and the masseuse asked me if I wanted a happy ending, I'd say 'yes please', just assuming it would be a particularly relaxing massage technique used to round off a session.

So yes, I do wonder how many embarrassing mix-ups they might have.

That must have been awkward to deal with the consequences of.

Thankfully I learnt what 'happy ending' means from the medium of television, and not through direct experience in an Edinburgh Sauna. :)

It must be tricky though, to know where to go in Edinburgh if you really do just want a massage.
