It's a Treat!

Last year at Halloween, I was asked to write a short story for the Globe and Mail.  Really short.  Too short really to collect anywhere so, because I'm sure most of you don't read the Globe and Mail -- for purely geographic reasons, of course -- I thought I'd share it with y'all this year.

It's from Child of the Grove, her first novel. That line still makes me shudder 25 years after I first read it.

Understandably so, the cauld grue from the child of the grove. It's been too long since I read it.

OMG.

My stomach just clenched with that telltale SCARY! RUN! feeling.
